Painted Pillars await assembly

Production Plus teams up with the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau to create a welcome written in stone. Making people feel welcome is key to making a world class city like Chicago become the global destination for business and tourism. Production Plus is proud to be part of this welcome.

Using our expertise in paint treatments and scenic construction, the CCTB has put in place a welcome that will surely impress and recognize everyone flying into Chicago's airports.

Unlike Henry Fords assembly lines, the 47 pillars created for the CCTB come in more than black. Using John Archer's versatitlity of finishing, these pillars were painted to have the solid appearance of marble making the fine woodwork of Andy Keita, Matt Cienkus, and the rest of the Production Plus team stand out in the rush of airport traffic.

In addition to being built to last, these pillars are built to change. The ability to transform simply and quickly to greet different groups makes these pillars have a personal touch while remaining cost effective for the CCTB to maintain with simple poster swapping.

Matt Cienkus prepares frames for pillars and Andy Kieta puts the last nails in to secure the frame

The next time you fly into our great city and are waiting for your luggage at the turnstile, be sure to look for these towers of "welcome" , and remember that the city of Chicago and Production Plus are glad you're here and is looking forward to working with you to make your next event stand out.
